Make sure y’all follow my soundcloud! Trying to utilize it more, going to be uploading some good good very soon as well.
Oh, and if you don’t follow I’m calling up the homegirl Sharkeisha and y’all know how she do.
Anonymous asked: I use my friend's controllers but I plan on copping some Technic 1200s. What's the best advice about the music you play? Play for the crowd or play and show people who you are through music? I'm not really into the whole EDM scene.
Good shit with the Technics.
In an ideal world, you show people who you are through music AKA playing songs you love genuinely. But it’s not an ideal world, and depending on the gig you have, you do have to make the sacrifice on playing songs you just don’t like listening to. But that just gives you the motivation to work towards landing gigs that give you the freedom to spin what you love.
My best advice is to continue to work on your craft, showcase your work through social media and live events, network, and the gigs you want will fall into place. Best case scenario, start throwing your own events. But remember to work on your craft! Can’t stress it enough.
Anonymous asked: Yo Justin! Any advice people who just got into deejaying?
As with anything else, try to not take any shortcuts! What I mean by that is practice mixing (manual of course, we don’t auto-sync around here) as much as possible ‘til you get comfortable with it. Not sure what kind of setup you have, but try not to rely heavy on the technology aspect of DJ’ing. There are a lot of controllers and other DJ equipment out there that makes anyone think they’re a DJ when they actually can’t mix for shit. The last thing the DJ world needs is another “performer” who pushes play and then dances for his whole set.
There’s a lot of DJ tutorials on youtube regarding how to transition smoothly so I’d start off with those. Watch the ones that teach you to mix with your mixer cue and headphones.

Opening up for Hiero with my boy Azure in Oakland was pretty tight. Spinning at the Adidas store in Berkeley when it was still open was coo too cus they threw me gear teehee. Idk, I still haven’t done anything huge. Hopefully that’ll change after I graduate cus I’m china go places feel me lol.
